This year the following instructors have agreed travel to the San
Francisco Bay Area for our event:

Bob Charron of the St. Martins Academy of Medieval Arms

Maestro Paul Macdonald of the Macdonald Academy of Arms, Edinburgh,
Scotland.

(one block off of San Pablo Ave. and 0.6 miles from El Cerrito Plaza BART Station)

Course of Study
Both Group and Private classes will be offered, including:

Bob Charron will conduct Group Classes in Longsword and Spear as
well as Private Classes in dagger and/or wrestling.

Paul Macdonald will conduct Group Classes in Backsword/SingleStick as well as Private Classes in Dusack and/or Backsword,
Rapier, Dueling Shield.

Group Classes will have a maximum of 12 students

Equipment Requirements
Students must bring their own equipment, including swords and safety equipment as needed.

Bob Charron
Information on Longsword and spear equipment to TBA.
For dagger, students will need a fencing mask, padded jacket, gloves for both hands, groin protection and long pants. Non marking shoes.

Paul Macdonald
Students must have a fencing mask and glove and ideally a fencing jacket. Maestro Macdonald will have a limited number of sticks and baskets for use.

Some singlesticks may be available for purchase with prior arrangement.

Private lesson students should bring the style of weapon they whish to learn.


Private Lessons
Private lessons are subject to availability. To be eligible for private lessons, students must pay the the one-time private lessons registration fee or the group lessons registration fee, plus an hourly fee to the instructor.

Bob Charron has indicated a 50 minute private session would be $40.

Maestro Macdonald has a usual rate is 20 Euros per hour or the US dollar equivalent.
